ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST RAGGING

Government ITI Tapan strictly adheres to all UGC / AICTE anti-ragging regulations. Ragging in any form is a criminal offence.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging means any act that causes physical or psychological harm, or raises apprehension or shame, or embarrassment to a student. It includes:

Physical assault, abuse, or torture
Verbal abuse, insults, or humiliation
Forcing to do demeaning acts
Demanding personal services
Conducting obscene activities
Threatening or intimidating juniors
Financial extortion from students
Any act adversely affecting dignity
Cyber ragging — online harassment
Group ragging and mob mentality

Punishment for Ragging

Suspension from classes and hostel
Expulsion / Rustication from the institute
Debarment from appearing in examinations
Criminal prosecution under IPC and State laws
Cancellation of admission and scholarships
Withholding of marks, certificates and degrees

Anti-Ragging Committee

As per Supreme Court directives, an Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted at this institute comprising:

  • Principal (Chairperson)
  • Senior Faculty Member
  • Student Representative
  • Parent Representative
  • Non-Teaching Staff Representative
  • Local Police Representative (if applicable)

Report ragging immediately. Your identity will be kept completely confidential.

Anti-Ragging Pledge

"I hereby solemnly affirm and undertake that I will not participate in or abet ragging in any form. I understand that if I am found guilty of ragging, I am liable for punishment according to laws and regulations of the institute and the courts."
